- תִּוֵּוךְPi. (denom. of preced.) to divide in the middle, to halve. Y.Ber.I, 2d bot. (expl. התיכונה Jud. 7:19) סופה של שנייה וראשה של שלישית (ש) הן מְתַוְּוכוֹת הלילה it means the latter part of the second and the first part of the third watch, which divide the night in half; Lam. R. to II, 18.Part. pass. מְתוּוָּךְ; f. מְתוּוֶּכֶת being between. Ib. introd. (R. Josh. 2) (ref. to Ez. 21:26) שהיא מת׳ בין שניוכ׳ which lies between two roads (where two roads meet), one leading to ; Koh. R. to XII, 7 שמת׳ לשניוכ׳ (corr. acc.); Yalk. Ez. 361.
